"Carnevale." It and "Deadwood" start next month.

Looking forward to that. I am trying to catch all of Carnevale, I missed several episodes.

No Emmy nominations, which I suspect is a racist reaction.

My guess is that the critics just were not following it. My husband watched this last season with me, and I had to keep explaining to him things like who Bubs was, and what was the significance of Deangelo Barksdale, and who that strange Black Muslim looking guy was and why he was mad at Stringer Bell. He had no idea who the blond female cop was that McNulty asked out at the end. Missed the entire season with the Greeks and the longshoremen. Did not even notice the longshoremen union election poster at the end.

My favorite characters were black - Stringer Bell, Bubsy, and Omar, Kima, Bunk and Bodie.

But compared to, say, Emma Thompson in "Angels in America," none of them deserved an Emmy. Well, maybe the guys who played Stringer Bell or Omar.

Glad that they tied it up. I hated that they (mostly the same people) left "Homicide" unfinished. Apparently there was an HBO miniseries the same people did that I haven't seen yet, "The Corner," which you can get on DVD. It took home three Emmys in 2000 (or maybe 1999).
