If you've got a notebook computer, odds are strong that it was built in China. And while Quanta and Compal aren't technically Chinese companies, for all practical purposes they are.

Granted, there aren't any brand names of Chinese companies for stuff you and I buy. But that doesn't mean that the Chinese economy isn't very important to the world economy.

Yeah, I know that it isn't exactly the same point as the competitive issue being made right now. But one thing's for sure, if China has " the biggest economic collapse of my lifetime", the economic ramifications to the United States will put us in the deepest economic recession of your lifetime, too.
