The US needs to commit to play a true leadership role, creating the international institutions and institutional arrangements that will enable global peace and well-being to flourish -- that is the only viable path to spread democracy. The idea that we can unilaterally invade and kill our way to a peaceful, democratic and prosperous world is sheer foolishness.
