Presstek @ PRINT 97
"A quick review of Presstek activity at Print '97:
Presstek's booth 6156 - North Hall, will have live demos every hour,
including the imaging of a PEARLgold process-less plate on Presstek's
PEARLsetter 74 (4-page) and PEARLsetter 52 (2-page), as well as the GERBER
Crescent 42-T (8-page), with a matching Imation Matchprint Laser Proof
being made on a PEARLhdp digital proofing system. The plate will also be
run live on a two-color Heidelberg Speedmaster 102 press. A complete
digital workflow, including digital contract proofing, all the way to
high-end ink on paper.
There will be a press conference in the booth on Thursday, Sept. 4th at
9:00 a.m.
Imation booth 6816 - will be showing the PEARLhdp 74 making a Matchprint
Laser proof, using the brand new Harlequin PEARLserver configured on the
Pentium Pro hardware.
Pitman booth 6116 will be demonstrating a combination PEARLhdp 74 and
PEARLsetter 74, a tandem unit with two drums served by a single rip for the
manufacture of Matchprint Laser proofs and matching Presstek thermal
plates.
Omnitrade booth 6239 will be showing a PEARLhdp 74 digital proofing system,
supporting a 4-page format OMNI ADAST 5-color digital press, which uses
Presstek plate and imaging technology.
Sakurai booth 516 will show the Presstek Platemaster 72 / hdp 72 tandem, a
4-page platesetting and Matchprint Laser proof system, and a second
Platemaster 72 unit making thermal plates for their presses.
Matik / Goebel booth 5208 will show a PEARLsetter 74.
Look for Presstek thermal plates, either the PEARLdry for waterless
printing, or PEARLgold for wet offset printing, at approximately nine
different sites throughout the show."
