My Prediction (guess?) for 2005

2005 may surprise on the upside with 20% and more gains in the S&P. As we have seen the past month, the near record cash hoarding over the past couple years by U.S. Corporations is now resulting in a wave of mergers, acquisitions, special dividend payouts, and stock buybacks. That should continue to lift the market in 2005 along with the one time tax break to U.S. multinationals allowing them to repatriate much of their overseas cash hoards back to the states. There was also an interesting study on insider buying in the brokerage industry that has very bullish implications for next year. Most of the predictions I have seen for 05 are for meager single digit returns. Any other takers/opinions on the 2005 market?
