newspapers are part of the problem

Interestingly, tonight, Thomas P.M. Barnett, whom I think is one of the most brilliant minds in America, had good things to say about the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, and the New York Times.

They're not good for all purposes, but if you accept the limitations, they're good for some purposes. One thing they are good at is letting you know what the Establishment thinks.

Barnett is an old Sovietologist and Kremlinologist, who retreaded himself after the fall of the Soviet Union. I think he reads US papers like Sovietologists and Kremlinologists used to read Pravda and Izvestia, not for the truth, but to read between the lines.
