Back then I felt betrayed. All those WW2 movies and the glorification of war spilled over to vietnam and then we realized it was all hype and that war sucks. If you have to fight a war, you need to be honest and not spew propaganda. I think we have car from that point but many today feel the same way re: bush and this war.
There was a scene in the movie "The Americanization of Emily" where emilys mother or grandmother was still lighting candles for fallen WW1 vets and Garner who is an american officer goest into a tirade about preventing future wars by not glorifying past ones. I never forgot that scene. Mike
