Guess what.

I spoke the a gal in the public relations dept. of the NFL today. We talked for 15 minutes and I just emphasized that I thought Darius should be suspended for a game because we needed to send a message to the players and, more importantly, that audience of fans that includes our KIDS that a hit like that is unacceptable. She assured me that it would be passed along, took my phone number again, and said mt remarks would be heard with regard to sending the right message to our kids.

Now its a waiting game. I know Del Rio doesn't want to lose the player for a week and as the coach he doesn't deserve it. That said, the player does deserve it so now we'll wait and see the outcome. I added that I thought the fine shouldn't be the standard 5-10k that they give guys for dress violations. I said it should be at least 25k or more.

So....now we wait until Friday and hope the NFL has the good sense to do the right thing and pull off a smart (even though its a bummer for the jags) PR move. The right message has to be sent to the players and the viewing kids who will one day be players themselves.
