Thanks for the invite. Don't know if i have the time to move to this debate. I would sum up my evolved view of the gay issue and thus gay marriage as follows:

From the beginning of time, people were enslaved based on genetic factors such as race or beliefs such as religion. Civil rights were accorded to these folks in democracies. OTOH, gays were discriminated against for either but for actual actions they performed which the larger society found disgusting. But now it appears that for most gays, they were born with this prediliction and as long as this prediliction doesnt lead to illegal actvities and are confined to consenting adults, the reasons once used to discriminate exist no more. So as someone who finds what two gay men do as disgusting, i cannot let that visceral reaction be used to deny them civil rights. And i guess that i have gotten to the point where i now consider marriage ot be a civil right. Does this logic make any sense to you?
