At the start up point, yes. Now, in inflation adjusted dollars... I haven't seen the numbers, have you? If true, how much more?

Lindsey Graham has been the most sensible on the issue. A compromise solution... combination of increased taxes on the highest earners and an across the board adjustment (cut) on the COL increase. An effective, working solution.

But don't expect DR or the other "conservatives" to agree. They want the system gone. It's got two strikes against it; one is the word "Social" in the title, the other is that it was authored by FDR. You really don't have to look any deeper. "Social FDR" is the deal killer, and they own the house, senate and executive. Screw reality.
