"indicating that George's pronunciation of the word nuclear as "nuculer" was acceptable and proper." I dunno about proper, but it is common in at least this part of Texas. Heck, I pronounce it that way. Dubya grew up in the Odessa-Midland area, but I've never been to that part of Texas. So I don't have a clue as to the common pronunciation there.
