For those of you that prefer, Jim's charity will accept donations by credit card. Great! Saves me the trouble of writing a check, and gets me frequent flier miles as well! I just called, spoke to the accountant (Debbie) and made my promised $500 donation. One note about tax deductibility. If you use a credit card, you get the deduction for 2004 only if the transaction is submitted by the donee and posted to your account by 12/31, but if you use a check, you can mail it as late as 12/31. As I spelled it out in detail two years ago Message 19600830 Debbie knew this rule, and assured me that she would put the credit card transaction in today. Congratulations again, Jim. Hope and trust you're being treated like a hero when you visit the Meals on Wheels folks! Happy New Year, all.
