Consider what you are saying. This is an example of the blind nature of so many today. You say "it was an illegal strike". What is the government doing making a unions right to strike illegal to begin with? You big business Republicans are all the same. The government was involved in union busting by taking away by law their right to strike. Reagan firing the air traffic controllers when they defied the tyranny of the federal government was just another act of union busting. A unions right to strike is it's primary power over management. Take it away and you have gutted the union and management will win every contract negotiation from then on. The air traffic controllers went on strike to begin with because they said the air was so unsafe they didn't want to be responsible for the safety of the people flying. The system had to be overhauled and it eventually was but not before they busted the union. I know personally one of the air traffic controllers who went on strike. He had to constantly keep notes on paper of the position of every plane on his scope because the system crashed so much and he needed to know where those planes were when the system did crash. He was also on a black list and could not get a government job until Reagan left office after he was fired. Reagan was no god. He sold us out for big business like every other Republican president since. It helps to have the facts instead of a story you heard on the propaganda shows on TV.
