I just took a look at The Swan website. As someone who used to read women's mags as a teenager, and also wears makeup myself from time to time, most of what you see appears to be the result of high fashion style makeup and hairdo. Maybe some dental work and a little facial nipping and tucking? A breast implant or two? I've never watched the show. They look so much alike afterwards, they must have exactly the same makeup artist, same hair stylist, same clothing designer, and same plastic surgeon.

Makeovers are staples of women's mags. What are really astounding are articles where paparrazi catch famous stars without their makeup. You know what they look like already, so it's surprising how ordinary even gorgeous Sharon Stone looks with her hair a mess and no eye makeup. Remember how awful -- oh, senior moment, I want to say Candice Bergen but that's not right, anyway a famous blonde -- what's her name looked with no makeup and her hair not done? Cybill Shepherd.
