Here is the crazy inversion. The Federal government, the Executive, Congress, seem free to indulge in any religious symbology or speech, even unabashed prayer, they feel like, but local government agencies are increasingly constrained in what they may express. Exactly the OPPOSITE of the way it should be.

If you don't find the prevailing local atmosphere to your taste, it's a small matter to move to a place you find more convivial. If the national government turns sour, what can you do? Where can you go?
