That's a lovely idea for a gift, one that will be more treasured through the years.
40 degrees and the windows open? I don't think so! Our house has no insulation apparently- we can't get the house over 66 degrees; you can feel winds gusting in the kitchen and you get frostbite if you open the cabinets on an outside wall. I came down during the night to check the faucets, but I don't know if the ones outside made it. Dan isn't exactly the prepare for disaster type. "They'll be fine," he always says. And they usually are. But I don't consider that fact evidence of his being right, merely lucky- THIS time.

I am locked into my study with the little heater aimed at me and my coffee in hand. As usual, I am the only one up.
The sun is out though, which warms the house a lot. Our white Christmas will soon just be a Muddy one.
