The mother of a close friend died recently, and she invited her friends to her house after the funeral for a reception/wake. I knew my friend was a Wiccan, but was a mite surprised that more than half the people there had met her at one pagan function or another. There actually is a pagan subculture! And they do celebrate the Solstice! I am afraid I sent her a Christmas card with a beautiful painting of the Virgin Mary and Baby Jesus. She won't mind, though.
