All I said was that democracy is alien to the cultures of certain peoples and that it cannot be forced on them unless due preparations were made beforehand.

I also pointed out

that a number of countries experienced problems soon after they adopted democracy ---- problems they never had before their flirtation with democracy;

and that the US has not been squeaky clean and honorable in its drive to democratize countries like Iraq.
