I hope your presents were satisfactory. My amazingly dear husband got me the book Marriage, by Susan Ferrier- which I learned about on a program on Scottish literature when we were in Scotland. I never dreamed he was taking note carefully enough to be able to buy me the book!!! Although i do remember , as we watched the program, when they described Ferrier as a Scottish Jane Austen, exclaiming "Why have I NEVER heard about this book? I must read it, ASAP." I promptly forgot about it completely.
:-)
Presents can be lovely things.
The kids are happy with their minimalist, and yet, exactly what they wanted, gifts. There is always much happiness here, and today only seems to put a little exclamation point on what we feel all year for each other. Holidays cannot remedy the deficits of a year spent poorly, but it can make more lovely, that which is already beautiful. |
