The geographical scope of the affected area is phenomenal, from Thailand to Somalia

We have a Tsunmani warning dept in the Hawaii Government. From earthquake to public warning of our islanders is a VERY short time, and they are ready. Nothing like this exists in these gap countries that got hit. And they don't have the civil disaster teams, or the tsunmani resistant buildings, that core countries do.
