I hope people are shorting TDFX! It's always more fun to make money at other peoples expense... don't you think?

I was browsing the new game titles down at T-Zone yesterday. It seems like all of the hot new games have that little 3Dfx logo down on the front cover of the box. Their marketing and development dept has done an excellent job of getting the 3Dfx brand name out there. The increased visibility will help to establish the brand. Savvy marketing along with leading edge graphics technology is a powerful combination in consumer oriented products.

On another note, I'm very interested in 3Dfx's approach to the new AGP chip set and related technology from Intel. What do they have in the pipeline to utilize this high speed port?

Intel is also scheduled to release their own graphics chip later this year. (Although rumor has it that it will be delayed into 1Q98.) Will that new chip, (and board, I assume), bring on a shakeout among the graphics chip vendors?
