WHY would anyone want to be head of DHS? What are the plus'es of this job? The person has to be very intelligent, good bio, nothing in his/her personal background that would cause any eyebrows to raise, non political but able to interface on a nearly daily basis with both House and Senate members (some of whom are completely insufferable, IMO), report at least weekly to the President, be in charge of ...what....71 different Federal agencies, including CIA and FBI.... Plus have to deal with the NYT and MSM... All for less pay by far than they would command in the business world, where the NYT reporters suggest the person come from.
