If Dobry confined his nuttiness to posting, banning and ignore would work fine. "I certainly never lost sleep over the nutbars who did attack me, just banned them from my home thread and tossed them on Ignore." However, he harasses people's employers, sends libelous email claims to Federal agencies, hires others to stalk people. He once got some lady named in a lawsuit simply because she had the same name as Janice, despite the two having nothing else in common and being thousands of miles apart. Her landlord in Italy was still being harassed even after Janice moved out of the country.

Ignore button doesn't do much for that.
