When giants with lots of knowledge and experience butt heads, little folks (like me) gain greatly from their knowledge. Humans haven't even uncovered the tip of the iceberg yet in science,...just a few snow flakes so far.

I very much enjoy your head butts with the others, and the others headbutting too. Learn a lot more, a lot faster, than trying to make sense of thousands of conflicting pieces of data. You and others have put a lot more pieces of the puzzle together. Of course the big puzzle has many interchangeable pieces, so no one can be sure if the theory will hold when all the data is in (of course all the data is never in).

One characteristic is common amongst all great scientists,...they can look at things from many angles, and can change their mind quickly if new data points to a different theory. They never get stuck in the dogma of the day, and enjoy playing the Devil's advocate.

Seasons greetings, and a toast to many more "battles and discussions" on this thread in 2005 :-)
