I'm simply stating that A zip is not too zippy. If you want speed you
need to fork out 499.00 for the Jaz. For less expensive storage
(200 megs or less) with speed, the Syquest is faster. Don't get me wrong, I love the Jaz (wish I could afford one) and the zip has the advantage of using a parallel port connection. A Parallel port connection, however, isn't as fast as a SCSI connection. If you want a cheap and "faster" low storage device, the Syquest is faster even than a zip with SCSI. I'm sure Iomegas new zip will increase speed.

Then again, DVD technology and recordable disc technology will show
it's strength in the several years. GOODBYE VHS! If you haven't heard about digital video discs you better find out soon.
