re China mutual funds -
thanks for all the suggestions. FXI is indeed an ETF I was looking at but it seems to reflect the big foreign traded ADR stocks only. These stocks have done much better then the Shanghai index I was referring to. CHN appears to be the closest match but it trades at a steep premium to NAV. GCH looks OK with a roughly 10% discount but it's also in the bigger names. TFC is mostly Taiwanese (which may not be bad). There seems to be no sensible choice for a Chinese small/mid cap mutual fund out there.
