Mark,

Are you suggesting a form of curve fitting by running multiple scans with optimized time periods and trigger limits? What would be the specific benefits of having many output files with groups of stocks that were triggered by these varying parameters? A lot more nightly choices, I guess (to answer my own question).

For example, Omnitrader 3.0 does something like this automatically but only with more standardized indicators, still totaling about 90 or so. The problem I've found is that these "optimized" settings don't seem to hold up long and you're back testing familiar combinations of parameters that you have the ability to specify. That program's output voting line seems hard to dissect relative to working with the more familiar scans of ones favorite standard or custom indicator combinations. You end up with an excess of indicator profile settings of which many are always shouting BUY and I tend to see it all as a systems overload situation. Maybe this is just my personal reduced cerebellum affliction. Remember the adage KISS.
