Seems like a great place to live.

...in the summer.

Yup! Ain't that the truth!

Regarding guns "up here".
They're certainly numerous,
but of most people we know (including ourselves)
a large number just own a .22 that is kept
in case you need to put sick or old animals out of their misery
or shoot a potentially rabid raccoon, skunk of fox that's
in the barnyard -- that kind of thing.
Shotguns are also common for hunting waterfowl.
There would also be higher calibre hunting rifles around,
(some of my uncles used to own them for going moose hunting, etc..)
but I know of virtually no one in all my circle
of family and acquaintances who owns a handgun,
and I've never even seen any kind of "assault weapon" type of gun "in person"
even though I've known many who are keen hunters
and one of my uncles used to own a hunting and fishing store
which sold a wide selection of hunting rifles, etc...
I don't think the "interest" is strong for such things up here.

Well, serious talk for this thread, eh?
How was everyone's Christmas?
I took quite a few photos but most were of
the one-and-only-kid in my small family
(I just have 2 brothers and only one has a child).
She is 2 and it seems that every photo which I took of her
is just this "blur" of wrapping paper being torn loose
and tossed off of one present or another.
Pretty funny.
