Hi Cal - Prialt sounds like a pretty heavy-duty drug, but it's good to see an alternative to morphine. Don't know how many have been exposed to pain as a result of spinal cord rubbing, but it can be bad. For me, morphine was ineffective. The only result was psychological, feeling a little better about the pain. This was a surprise. Later, I spoke to someone whose back condition was corrected by surgery, and he had the same experience: the effect of morphine was negligible. Until after surgery, it felt like his legs were "on fire". I think many of us have the idea that morphine is pretty effective. Not always. Jim
