I came across a couple of them in Beijing. An Aussie administrator and a woman from Europe [I forget where].

We were all staying in a US$40 a night hotel near the centre of Beijing [I'd moved up to the luxury after staying with our son in the nearby Saga Beijing youth hostel]. The Aussie's clothes were certainly not wasting any money and we [son and I] took him for a walk and we had eats down at the street takeaways.

The impression I had from that and talking to them was that they are not a profligate organisation. There are plenty of more expensive multi-storey hotels in which to stay in Beijing.

Here it is, beijinghotelchina.com but on reflection, it's not a cheap one at all. It's a fashionable hotel on the tourist trail. I just wandered down the road on my bicycle and found it and they gave me a discount for being a nice guy [and mate's rates due to a friend from the youth hostel teaching them English]. Maybe they paid full rates.

Anyway, that's where they were staying.
