Jaegermeister,

Earthquakes and tsunamis are two separate things.

When an earthquake occurs, it is detected, measured and pinpointed by thousands of seismograph stations around the globe.

This quake registered about 9.0 on the Richter scale, and the epicenter was determined to be about 155 miles southeast of Sumatra and located beneath the ocean floor where tectonic plates collide.

The amount of energy released in this quake was on the order of millions of nuclear bombs. Millions.

There's no way we could have created that.

The squiggles on the seismographs don't lie.

This tsunami was caused by an earthquake, dude.

Sure, you found an article that listed various ways that both small and large tsunamis can be caused, and it included not just mammoth earthquakes but also minor episodes such as landslides, glacial calving, nuclear bombs, Oprah jumping into the swimming pool, etc.

But rest assured, this monster was caused by a huge earthquake. Mankind simply cannot create an earthquake of this magnitude which was even told to have wobbled the Earth's axis in a measurable fashion. And again, basic science proves it was a quake.

If you don't believe me call your local university's physics or geology dept.
