Some changes were implemented to the working of Ignore this morning.

Note that the new workings are documented at siliconinvestor.com but I'll cover the changes in this message, too.

Ignore now works in batch-read mode. If your Ignore Status is toggled on, messages From or To anyone on your ignore list show up as "Ignored Message", which can be clicked to temporarily pause Ignore, just like is done in single message reading. Navigating to another page unpauses your Ignore status.

If you're a Premium member (UserLevel 10 or higher), you'll also see something at the top of the screen that says either "Ignore is On" or "Ignore is Off". Clicking it will toggle Ignore and the setting will remain in effect until you change it again.

This is a shortcut to the toggle that's always been available as the last item in the Options screen.

A technical note: Your global Ignore Status is stored in a table called MemberPreferences. About 700 people have no MemberPreferences entry. I have no idea how many of these people are currently active, but it's entirely possible that if any of these people hit the "Ignore is Off" (default) link at the top of the screen, they might get an error. I have no way to test that because logging in creates a MemberPreferences record if it doesn't already exist.

I've tried to anticipate an absent MP record and deal with it accordingly, but if hitting the "Ignore is Off" throws an error, hit the Back button, log out, and log back in, and you should have a new MemberPreferences record.

The MP table, btw, is where everything is stored that you set in your Options screen.
