<<Can GMOs help feed the hungry?>>

So far they have. Take corn for example. The Aztecs were the first ones to start modifying corn. The corn plant they started working with was a bunch of leaves with a stalk and 8 kernels on it. Back in the 40s a good farmer could raise 40 bushels per acre, today it's 180+. The benefit? Corn sold for $2.00 a bushel in 1900, today it's going for $1.74 per bushel in dollars that are worth a lot less than the 1900 dollars. You can raise corn in several varieties that pop, several varieties of sweet corn, high protein corn, high starch corn, high oil corn.
