Cirrus, perhaps you can explain to me why Americans are expected to bear every burden and never receive the slightest gratitude in return?

Have you ever been to Normandy? Spoken to the residents? The American cemeteries there are hallowed ground to the French people. They understand the sacrifices Americans made on their behalf and are indeed grateful.

Of course, the neocons here have somehow concluded that France's refusal to participate in the foolish invasion of Iraq is somehow... anti-American? As the French President said before the invasion... "only your true friends will tell you that you are making a mistake."

The outpouring of worldwide support for America after 9/11 was amazing. If you recall, even Iraq granted use of it's airspace to airmen in the event of emergencies. Time Magazine recently disclosed that Saddam considered sending condolences to the American people after 9/11...

Please explain as well why SOME Liberals enjoy criticizing their duly elected President rather than banding together and moving forward which was the American tradition for a couple centuries?

Because our duly elected president doesn't move. He sat reading "My Pet Goat" while the WTC towers burned. He does whatever at his ranch for 3 days before acknowledging the greatest natural disaster in our lifetime. He seems to forget that the President is not just leader of America, but has the capacity to be a world leader. World leaders don't remain silent when disasters strike.

If Pres Bush flew to the disaster area within 24hrs of the tsunami, today's U.S. Liberals would still find something to complain about. It's simply their nature.....they never learned to be team players for the greater good.

Team players need a team leader. Bush is not a team leader. He's a "my way or the highway guy". He's proven that time after time... last week he re-nominated many of the radical judges that didn't make it through the confirmation process last time and seems determined to break two centuries of Senate protocol to ram them through this time. So much for a team leader.

Our leader remained silent for three days in the face of tens of thousands dead. Wonderful leader.
