"You two still good friends?" I still like Jim as a person. He is one of the most intelligent people I have ever met. Unfortunately, we had a differing of opinions a few months ago. Jim tried to pass off a bunch of discredited liberal propaganda as fact (FWIW, he is moderately conservative in his personal politics, but he hates all politicians). I don't buy BS from anyone, so I called him on it. All I did was say that I knew what he said was known to be discredited (by the 9/11 Commission I believe) & it was not true. Well, Jim doesn't like to be told he is wrong about anything. He went into a rant that repeated the line, "Are you calling me a liar?" I insisted that I was challenging the factual accuracy of his assertions, but I was not calling him a lair. We both refused to back down. Jim took it very personally. We haven't talked since then.
