Scott Mc, You're strategy can work but requires a lot of luck and a lot of effort and in the end all you accomplish is giving the government and the broker the benefit of you're trade. Long term wealth, in my opinion, is best created by buying great companies that keep on growing and they are out there. I hate the installment system for capital gains that Canada has implemented, in my view, the best way to keep my gains in this country is to keep it out of the hands of the government. I still do some short term trading but not enough to trigger a large tax installment. The government can't take away my gains if I don't sell and I have discovered that holding great companies makes me a whole lot richer than trading. All the best! SJD
