Recount until you win and declare victory - despite loosing over and over. The system is insufficiently accurate when it is so close. It is a shame when a person looses two out of three and then wins!

Yes, it is a shame. It's also a shame to lose after having gotten the most votes. And, yes, the system in insufficiently accurate. You'd think that in this day and age we could get it right.

We have in this country something really special, though. It's called the rule of law. However imperfect our voting processes, we have them and we honor them regardless of the outcome because honoring the rule of law is more important than any individual election outcome. As I understand it, the appeal processes specified by the state of Washington, three rounds, have been exhausted and the election has been certified.

There is time to changed the processes before the next election. And of course plenty of time to bitch and moan.

There's an op-ed in today's Post advocating voting by mail.

FWIW, I think that in any election that close, either candidate could reasonably be said to adequately represent the will of the people.
