I couldn't agree more. What the internet looks like 4-5 years from now will eventually be determined by the courts and the legislatures. If people are performing illegal acts on the web, then let it be handled by the appropriate governmental agencies or the courts, not by character assassination in a forum where independent verification of the facts is difficult to access.

Any organization who stated purpose is "spin control" of negative news about a company through the use of "rapid response swat teams" must be opposed. Especially when the companies pay for such services.

I hope to see an internet in the future that provides for each of us the broadest right of privacy along with free and anonymous speech.
