Yiwu the US saw its original plan backfired and act accordingly. All countries in the world have ready resources (in kind) as a sort of civil defense. Unused food or medicine expires and stock has to be replenished. So they are ready to be used at any time. You don't create a committee to put a fire you dump water on the flames and think about later. Don't do that, the obvious reaction, anyone think you have a hidden agenda. That was what happened. Let’s split into to two: natural disaster you help even your enemy. It is called humanitarian aid. The sufferings are the weaker and the poorer. The violence against the Chinese in Indonesia of 1965 would be today impossible. Owing to the speed of communication the images would be in our screens as the first heads started to roll. In 1998, the Chinese were attacked and capital flew (USD115billion) and even today the Indonesian is seeing the damage done to them. Today, many chinindo (Indonesian Chinese) live in KL Malaysia and commute by plane to Indonesia. I will give you a few years more and Indonesian will be making Chinese New Year a holiday, allowing Chinese press etc to attract the capital back. Watch!
