This unfortunately makes more sense to me. I dont see how a pilot could be blinded by a laser from below, but using a laser to scope out launch sites against aircraft makes some sense.

Of course it seems to me that there are many airports with secure areas to attack from that provide access to planes when they are very low in their flight path.

If the Islamofascists manage to blow some airliners out of the sky perhaps Washington will finally listen to the masses across the nation screaming for the government to get illegal immigration under control.
