Good evening to all who follow this thread
As one who doesn't go to movies or follow celebrity news, I have to admit I'm grieved by the tragic accident and death of Princess Diana.
Her face and problems have been present in nearly every household in the literate world for the past 15 years. And so she almost seems to be someone we knew.
It strikes me as one good aspect of human nature (among the terrible acts which the human mind can contrive and carry out) that most human beings respond with genuine hurt, shock and regret and immediately express sympathy for her children, friends and family of this young woman. To me, she was wronged by many from the start of her notoriety.
Television pointed out this afternoon that she was the only Royal who would touch ordinary folks and permit them to touch her. We may say, then, that she genuinely had the "common touch."
Let's hope her children can somehow survive and develop into happy, wholesome folks.
If there's a good life beyond, she deserves it.
Well this hasn't been our usual topic but it's just uppermost in my mind at this moment.
We lay, in spirit and thought, a bouquet of flowers at her door.
Respectfully,
William |
