You may conclude that but that may be a cheap shot though.
As for money matters Germany is stuck between a rock
and a hard place thanks to nobody but themselves.
Add a lack of swift operational powers due to a long decision making chain. Especially so during their many public holidays and long weekends. May not exactly be the topic of this discussion though.
Would not be surprised at all to see the Germans hike their contribution considerably after this long weekend.

As for generosity of the US private sector in general, why not take a look at what Gates has been pledging through the years for a starter?
No doubt the statistics on the total US contributions will start popping up by next week or so. Check the media and let me know. Right now I am stuck in Europe.

With the great news of the day being, that my buddy checked in, made it back with all his family.
Right now the official Swedish count is down 8 (!) to 2,915 lost
in Asia.
