i guess there's no way to stop this thread from degenerating into idle speculation about trivialities until the earnings actually come out --- so here's my useless two cents -

if michael did buy the name rights to the palladium, then his marketing instincts are really wierd. with all respect to hockey fans, people on this side of the border who watch hockey are the joe six-pack types. they are not the people who make the corporate decisions that could impact corel's business in the slightest way. no matter how many times the senators win the stanley cup. when sun or oracle sponsor the san jose sharks, then i'll change my mind.

i speak as someone who had grainy sepia pictures of syl apps, turk broda and howie morenz tacked to his bedroom wall as a kid. if anybody among us corel fans can tell me which team (of the original six) the kraut line played for, i'll send $1k to his favorite charity. i really will, but only to the first correct answer.

all in fun while we wait for the earnings report.
