well, we were not talking about 2000 now were we?

I have to say, the shorts are far too emotional about the late 90s market. You'd think we could never have a bull market again, and stocks are never going to be overvalued again.... wrong, I think.

Ebay has surpassed its late 90s highs by a fair amt btw.

Anyway my point was not to bring up the bubble and have the bears work themselves up into a tizzy. The point is that no matter the market, the naz is not going anywhere *unless* there is leadership that inspires. It has always been that way even in the 80s.

My personal belief is that google will take down microsoft and this will open up a world of possibilities for technology as a whole, the same thing that happened when IBM fell in 92. But whether you buy that or not, without google we probably wouldn't have much hope of a new bull in tech. In 2002 we had nothing, no new leadership. I am very happy to say that Google has added some optimism to the bay area job market too. That was a huge problem for a while, all the big names like msft and csco offshoring and no new companies to hire the US citizens. Fortunately that panic has abated at least a little.
