The history of candidates losing an election for Prez and coming back to run again is pretty bleak. The only successful one that comes to mind is Nixon. Stevenson was a sacrifical animal when he ran against Ike in '56.

I still don't believe Kerry will run for his Senate seat again when he evaluates what will happen to him if he does. His dishonorable Discharge will come out.
