I'm not surprised the greatest Irish epic is about a cattle raid and not rescuing fair maiden.

This is very long story but I wound up with two horned herefords and I kept them in a little pasture down by the highway. Later that summer a little cowboy that looked like Jimmy Durante about 80 years of age with a big stetson would park his old Fargo truck by the fence for hours watching the cows. He had a place in the hills where he bred longhorn crosses - while he loved my cows it took six months to negotiate the fee (cash only) and he still managed to short change me $200. He later passed on and I was not surprised to read in the obits he was one generation off the boat from Ireland.

The cows and their bastard offspring still roam the hills adopting menacing postures with horns close to 3 feet long on either side when anyone approaches.
