Hi Steve, there is one writer for the NYT that is actually VERY astute when it comes to the middle east. His name is Friedman. Read some of his articles. He's got a very balanced opinion of what is going on in the ME from his decades of journalistic experience in that area of the world, unlike some on this thread that blame everything on the U.S.
