I think most people who are still eating meat have compartmentalized somehow because eating meat is convenient, and most people think it tastes good. So they make sure that they never read articles about how the animals they are eating suffer. It was that article that made me stop eating beef forever, in fact.

I do understand the basic difference between dairy and beef cows. Of course with modern factory farming animals are just products, so if the dairy cow stops producing so much milk she has to die so the farmer can profit from her meat.

What I guess I still don't understand is whether you are saying that dairy cows are more likely to carry mad cow disease than beef cows.
