The blackcurrant drink mix is called Ribena. Here is their site--very pretty:

ribena.co.uk

Now I must tell you that the Irish health authorities have recently started warning parents against giving their children these drinks very often. They are not pure juice and are very sugary and will make children fat, apparently, and rot their teeth. They are a huge staple of Irish childhood, though.

I wish Trader Joe's made a healthier blackcurrant drink. Is there some reason you cannot make juice from them? Are the berries too sour on their own?

The biscuits I had are pretty available at stores with a good import section. They are a famous English/Irish brand--I just cannot remember the name right now. They are buttery round biscuits with dried blackcurrant bits in them. Unfortunately, they have hydrogenated oils like most American and European food, although I understand there is a move to take those out. They are vegan, though, good for me!
