Evidently the intent of 3.9G (Super 3G) which is planned beyond the 3GPP HSDPA (3.5G) and HSUPA (3.6G) is to use existing ITU IMT-2000 3G spectrum, packet switched transmission (only) with VoIP on an all-IP RAN with OFCDM in the downlink. The objective is to achieve up to 30Mbps - 100 Mbps peak transmission rates with <0.5ms latency.
